There is so much to enjoy at the Fredericksburg First Fridays. They have it all set up for you with a conveniant free trolley with stops every 20 minutes around downtown. Every year on Saturday closest to St. Patrick’s day the oceanview neighborhood in Norfolk, VA transforms into one of the most epic parties of the year. You will want to head down the beach road in the morning ready to grab a good spot. The parade starts at 8:30 am so be sure to set up early in the morning. Some locals set up their chairs the night before!
The parade is always family-friendly and most of the floats will be giving away treats. (Like candy and necklaces). The parade will start at the Northside middle school and continues on and turns North on Granby. Then it follows it down until a left at A View Ave. After that a left on First View Street and ends at the intersection of First View and Government Ave. It will not be hard to find where the parade is running, you can see the chairs along the road.
One of the biggest after-parties is at the Columbian Club of Ocean View for live music, food, and fun. There will be a variety of food vendors and live music provided by Wonderland and Savannah Band.

Cherry Blossom Festival
Although spring in Virginia came early this year, there is still time to catch the Cherry Blossom Festival and see plenty of spring flowers in Virginia. This year the opening ceremony is on March 25! Festival of Spring Luray VA
The Festival of Spring in Luray, Virginia is one of the biggest attractions in the area right behind the Luray Caverns. There is a little something for everyone to enjoy on Main Street. North American Sand Soccer Championships at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront
The annual Sand Soccer Championships is always one of the biggest sporting events in Virginia. In 2023 plan to head to Virginia Beach between June 9-11 to see over 11,000 sand soccer players compete in the sand. The fields are much smaller and it is a 5v5 fast passed game that averages over 60 shots on goal.
You can explore all 33 streets of the boardwalk with players ranging from peewee to U.S National and International teams competing. You will need to purchase tickets to gain access to the bigger matches, but it is free to walk around checking out the amateurs. BEACH IT! Country Music Festival in Virginia Beach
The first-ever Beach IT! The outdoor spring event in Virginia takes place from June 23-25 at the VB oceanfront. This year’s lineup has some of the biggest names in Country music. Including the beautiful Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and Thomas Rhett as the headliners.
Other big names include Brothers Osborne, Cole Swindell, Jo Dee Messina, Riley Green, Hailey Whitters, and so many more. The entire concert takes place in the sand and can also be heard from a few of the seaside restaurants. This will be one of the most fun events in Virginia you do not want to miss out on it.
